I have a first person shooter scene I would like to control with a joystick/gamepad.
I have a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 3 usb gamepad.

does anyone have or know where I could get a sample file that will work with a joystick so I can try to figure out how to map my fps movement keys to this pad?

I've looked at the joystick animations and can't really figure out how they work?

The help hasn't been very helpful either.

thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Two ways to do this-

1) You can map the keyboard keys to the joystick in the utility that comes with it, then make sure the settings in the First Person View Control match what you set up. Down side of this is having to set them up on other machines.

2) Map the keys inside Creator with the Joystick Key animation one at a time. Down side of this is it only offers five buttons instead of the 10 or 15 buttons and triggers your joystick may have.

The Joystick Push Control is for using the joystick to physics push an object around the scene. The Joystick Move Control is for moving an object around a scene- both of which you would probably be using with a View Follow Object control (3rd person view).

I tried a quick test, but apparently haven't installed the joystick on the machine I tested it on. I'll try to do a little sample scene after getting it installed, but that probably won't be right away.
