Ben,

I think this might be your area of expertise. I'm having performance problems with a couple default shaders. The shaders are Depth of Field and Bloom Blur. On average I'm getting a 30% to 50% drop in frame rate when added to a scene. Also when adding Bloom Blur to the scene the scene goes black and I can not see objects rendered before this material.

With the onset of EC v3.0 we have easy access to the shader code and I was wondering how difficult it might be to optimize these shaders? Maybe you could recommend a couple simple variables to tweak?

I'm not too worried about how amazing the shader looks I'm looking for peek performance.

Thoughts?

P.S. I have tried the shaders at current fastest performance values, Depth of Field (Quickest 64)

Hi Christian,

Ben is the real expert here, and I'm sure he will have more comments. But I can say that we did a LOT of work on imporving shader preformance and memory usage in the version that was just posted - 3.0.0.2055.
